Mir is a sturdy and compact all-caps sans born from the letterforms found on an original Cosmonaut IDS panel from the Mir space station.

The lines were cleaned up and shapes modestly conformed, before work began on reverse-engineering a multi-lingual typeface from its space-faring beginnings.
